Hashing out the #HashTags

Hashing out the #HashTags

There seems to be a lot of confusion when it comes to getting discovered using hash tags. This week Katie Brinkley and I are going to hash out the hash tags so we all have a better understanding of how they work? how many do you need?, and all of the other stuff we wonder about.

On knee, 20 00:01:15.120 --> 00:01:17.719 always a big fan of the show, says the Billy Thorpe. Hat 21 00:01:17.840 --> 00:01:19.319 forward today. Yeah, it is a hat forward kind of day. I 22 00:01:19.359 --> 00:01:23.599 can give it careful it is a sponsor of a different project, so I 23 00:01:23.599 --> 00:01:26.079 can't say anything too crazy. No, actually, they probably don't care, 24 00:01:26.680 --> 00:01:30.920 says, stop drinking coffee, have tea with no show. Don't tell me 25 00:01:32.000 --> 00:01:34.599 what to do. All right, I can do what I want. And 26 00:01:34.760 --> 00:01:37.920 sugars, bad for you, Knie. Okay, and then since says, 27 00:01:37.920 --> 00:01:40.159 I'm only here for the food, and I wish that was true. But 28 00:01:40.200 --> 00:01:44.840 anyway, enough of my shenanigans. I'm excited about today's episode because I am 29 00:01:44.920 --> 00:01:49.159 joined with my Tuesday Co host. I just let her get settled in for 30 00:01:49.159 --> 00:01:52.359 a minute. She's been busy today, so I can let her settle in 31 00:01:52.760 --> 00:01:55.799 hang out for a couple minutes before I bring her on to talk here. 32 00:01:55.959 --> 00:01:59.519 But it's Katie brinkly. She can be joining me today in a lot. 33 00:01:59.599 --> 00:02:01.560 In a lot of Tuesdays I don't know how many, but obviously a lot. 34 00:02:01.599 --> 00:02:05.480 In today we're going to be talking about those hashtags. I don't know 35 00:02:05.519 --> 00:02:07.680 anything about them, so I get tons of questions, but I think they're 36 00:02:07.680 --> 00:02:12.159 important, or so I've been told. There's a lot of controversy. How 37 00:02:12.199 --> 00:02:15.439 many where should I put them to they going off butter order, you know? 38 00:02:15.599 --> 00:02:20.039 Did they multiple words? Spaces? I've no idea, but anyway, 39 00:02:20.080 --> 00:02:23.439 I'm going to bring Katie on and she came in after we started, so 40 00:02:23.639 --> 00:02:24.319 you know, if we have some deck issues, will work it out. 41 00:02:24.400 --> 00:02:29.680 But Katie Brinkley, how's it going? Good to see you. I'm so 42 00:02:29.800 --> 00:02:34.759 happy to be here and hopefully I don't know found my goodness. This is 43 00:02:34.800 --> 00:02:37.639 what happens when I do too many things at the same time. But Hi, 44 00:02:37.680 --> 00:02:40.199 I'm so happy to be here. I've have weird Internet issues today. 45 00:02:40.240 --> 00:02:45.680 It's been a day and it's only Tuesday, so we've got like three more 46 00:02:45.759 --> 00:02:49.560 days left that this week to try and get things back on track. I 47 00:02:49.599 --> 00:02:52.960 didn't even know what day it was. I woke up ere like for am, 48 00:02:53.000 --> 00:02:54.520 I think, and I'm like, I'm just gonna get up and get 49 00:02:54.560 --> 00:02:58.280 a drink of water and we go back to sleep. And I just couldn't. 50 00:02:58.319 --> 00:03:00.759 So I just got up started knocking out work before my three year old 51 00:03:00.800 --> 00:03:05.520 woke up. So that's I. So that's actually why you have the hat 52 00:03:05.639 --> 00:03:08.319 on. It's because you've been up since for in the morning. I saw 53 00:03:08.439 --> 00:03:13.680 your instagram story. That was with their hair and I it was real. 54 00:03:13.800 --> 00:03:16.080 That was laughs. So thank you for sharing that. was right out of 55 00:03:16.080 --> 00:03:19.439 bed, right to the office, just like, let me just put my 56 00:03:19.439 --> 00:03:23.360 headphones on and finish a project, and so that was real. So yeah, 57 00:03:23.360 --> 00:03:25.439 well, I'm excited about today's conversation, but before we get into it, 58 00:03:25.439 --> 00:03:28.680 as always, we get a couple of little segments and you're going to 59 00:03:28.759 --> 00:03:31.240 help me out with with one of them. So I will go ahead and 60 00:03:31.639 --> 00:03:37.520 push the button. What it's toll time with creating daily all right, so 61 00:03:37.599 --> 00:03:40.319 this our tull time segment. I've no idea what this tool is even is, 62 00:03:40.439 --> 00:03:44.560 Katie, so I'm gonna I'm gonna Flick it down to you. You 63 00:03:44.599 --> 00:03:50.719 tell us all about yeah, this is this is my secret sauce. I 64 00:03:50.800 --> 00:03:58.520 absolutely love this tool for Hashtag. So if you want to get more people 65 00:03:58.560 --> 00:04:01.719 on your your instagram feed, if you're like I don't understand Hashtags, do 66 00:04:01.759 --> 00:04:08.159 they not work anymore. Answer as they do, and this is one of 67 00:04:08.159 --> 00:04:11.919 the tools that I use. I have a couple of them. Like I 68 00:04:11.960 --> 00:04:14.800 said, this is the one I use and I I love the data and 69 00:04:14.879 --> 00:04:17.920 analytics that come along with it. So I'm all about what works and what 70 00:04:18.000 --> 00:04:23.240 doesn't. I have a business to run. I'd not a you know, 71 00:04:23.439 --> 00:04:26.959 an influence her, and so I need to make sure that every time I 72 00:04:26.959 --> 00:04:30.160 show up on social media I'm getting the most sang for my back. And 73 00:04:30.360 --> 00:04:34.839 with flick you can actually see what hashtags work, which ones are dead, 74 00:04:34.879 --> 00:04:39.839 which ones are killing your account to an when you start ranking on hashtags. 75 00:04:39.959 --> 00:04:45.519 So this is my gotool for all things hashtags. All right. So there 76 00:04:45.560 --> 00:04:47.240 you go. If you're listening to this and you can't see the screen, 77 00:04:47.319 --> 00:04:51.680 go to next step, dot social flick. That is an affiliate link of 78 00:04:51.800 --> 00:04:56.040 Katie, so it's a good way to support her as a creator. So 79 00:04:56.120 --> 00:05:00.040 go check that out. In Sid Meadows says I love flick. So he's 80 00:05:00.120 --> 00:05:04.639 a user and then nice and then knee is going to learn a lot today 81 00:05:04.639 --> 00:05:08.959 as well, because he says he thought flick was dead. Flick isn't dead, 82 00:05:09.040 --> 00:05:14.439 knee, come on. So we'll talk more about that, but then, 83 00:05:14.560 --> 00:05:15.639 real quick, as I always do, I'm want to do a little 84 00:05:15.639 --> 00:05:21.920 creator. I later highlights no cooking necessary and no assembly required. It's got 85 00:05:21.920 --> 00:05:28.360 to be fuck all right. So this, this, this business, this 86 00:05:28.920 --> 00:05:31.959 what I'm trying to think of. This network, this podcast network called audio 87 00:05:32.120 --> 00:05:35.800 chuck, doesn't need really any promotion, but I did want to to talk 88 00:05:35.839 --> 00:05:41.360 about they're really cool podcast that I found called armored. Before I tell you 89 00:05:41.399 --> 00:05:44.040 about that, do you want to mention my friends? Aren't maving coffee. 90 00:05:44.160 --> 00:05:47.600 This is small batch Columbian coffee, so make sure you get a maving coffeecom 91 00:05:47.600 --> 00:05:51.560 in order. The signature blend is my favorite. It's delicious. They get 92 00:05:51.639 --> 00:05:58.199 all kinds of crazy small batch like microlots, is super, super good. 93 00:05:58.240 --> 00:06:01.560 One of my favorite coffees. Now like to armored. Armored is this podcast 94 00:06:01.560 --> 00:06:04.800 that I found at audio chuck does a lot of different PODCASTS, a lot 95 00:06:04.839 --> 00:06:09.720 of crime podcasts. Eight they're ones. Have Crime Junkie. Came remember the 96 00:06:09.759 --> 00:06:13.839 ladys name atrons it, but her her friend Britt do it. Super Great 97 00:06:13.839 --> 00:06:16.680 podcast. But I came across this one, armored, and it's awesome. 98 00:06:16.720 --> 00:06:20.759 It's like this ten part series hosted by Jake Brennan and it's really like a 99 00:06:20.800 --> 00:06:27.800 deep dive into all these like most notorious truck robbery cases all over the world. 100 00:06:27.879 --> 00:06:30.120 So I've been binge listening to this, Katie, and it is like 101 00:06:30.759 --> 00:06:32.920 it is pretty dope. I don't know if you're in the crime stuff. 102 00:06:32.959 --> 00:06:38.079 Maybe I'm just a Weirdo, but I'm like why? Yes, so I 103 00:06:38.079 --> 00:06:42.920 had fun facts that probably you do not know, billy. I had a 104 00:06:42.920 --> 00:06:48.160 brief stint as a flight attendant and in almost every hotel you get the then 105 00:06:48.360 --> 00:06:55.600 the TV network Anne and there's this show on Annie called the first forty eight, 106 00:06:55.680 --> 00:06:59.319 and so I they have it very strategically done that where you get to 107 00:06:59.399 --> 00:07:02.319 hear the end of one crime being solved or unsolved and they start the next 108 00:07:02.319 --> 00:07:05.839 one without a commercial break. So I would binge the first forty eight for 109 00:07:05.920 --> 00:07:11.439 like seven straight hours on layovers. Oh my gosh. Yes, huge, 110 00:07:11.519 --> 00:07:16.360 huge true crime fan. Going into an entirely different episode of creating daily. 111 00:07:16.680 --> 00:07:23.720 We could talk about some of the books and scary Docu series that I've for 112 00:07:23.759 --> 00:07:29.319 some reason watched and hence why I don't sleep very well because I'm afraid people 113 00:07:29.319 --> 00:07:31.480 are going to come to my house at I didn't get me. I though, 114 00:07:31.600 --> 00:07:34.160 I don't when you started that, you like said love, like you 115 00:07:34.279 --> 00:07:36.879 probably didn't know this, but I did a stint and I thought you're going 116 00:07:36.920 --> 00:07:40.639 to say I can prison or something. I was like whole my Gosh, 117 00:07:40.680 --> 00:07:43.199 and I think you're going to tell me like all these crime stories. But 118 00:07:43.360 --> 00:07:46.560 anyway, I mean the the fining tin of thing is also just as cool, 119 00:07:46.600 --> 00:07:48.879 but I was thinking you like went to prison. So I'm like go, 120 00:07:49.160 --> 00:07:53.680 no, no, sorry, I'm buy the book girl kind of over 121 00:07:53.720 --> 00:07:57.600 here. So so, for anybody just joining us, we're going to talk 122 00:07:57.600 --> 00:08:01.079 about we're gonna jump into hashtags and if you have any questions, if you're 123 00:08:01.079 --> 00:08:03.839 watching on you to put a que colon and then ask your question so I 124 00:08:03.879 --> 00:08:09.040 can easily find it. And then, if you're listening on bullhorn, watching 125 00:08:09.040 --> 00:08:11.920 on Bullhorn, actually get this nice little fancy scene set up with Katie and 126 00:08:11.920 --> 00:08:15.600 I so you can drop your questions there. We can come over here and 127 00:08:15.639 --> 00:08:18.720 read them, all those fun things. So be sure that you ask questions. 128 00:08:18.720 --> 00:08:22.240 I got a bunch of questions, but I guess I'll start out with 129 00:08:22.839 --> 00:08:26.360 what the heck is a Hashtag? Katie? What is a Hashtag? It's 130 00:08:26.399 --> 00:08:31.159 that little pound sign that for US old folks, that's it used to be 131 00:08:31.240 --> 00:08:35.720 on the old telephone. I'M gonna say this one was for Sid. That 132 00:08:35.840 --> 00:08:37.240 question was for Sid. I know he doesn't know it. So that's why 133 00:08:37.240 --> 00:08:43.919 I no, I mean like and that's the thing with Hashtags, is it? 134 00:08:45.240 --> 00:08:50.039 A lot of people don't realize really how much significance they have and how 135 00:08:50.080 --> 00:08:54.080 you can take your business to a whole new audience when you know how to 136 00:08:54.159 --> 00:09:00.039 use hashtags the right way. So I think that you know, I know 137 00:09:00.120 --> 00:09:01.840 we're going to dive into this, but it's it's a it's a way to 138 00:09:01.879 --> 00:09:07.919 be found on different social media platforms, whether it's facebook instagram. Definitely instagram 139 00:09:09.000 --> 00:09:13.519 is the big one for Hashtags, but even twitter Linkedin, Tick Tock. 140 00:09:13.559 --> 00:09:18.799 All of them utilize hashtags. You just need to know how to post on 141 00:09:18.919 --> 00:09:22.600 with them strategically so that you can be found by your ideal clients and customers. 142 00:09:22.960 --> 00:09:26.080 Okay, so so let me ask you this. Is it? So 143 00:09:26.120 --> 00:09:30.320 it's called a tag, so I guess it's tagging topics together. So if 144 00:09:30.360 --> 00:09:35.039 I go hashtag creating daily, I'll see if anyone in the world is posted 145 00:09:35.120 --> 00:09:37.200 something about, you know, Hashtag creating daily. It'll be on there. 146 00:09:37.320 --> 00:09:41.399 Is it? How that works? Is All? Yeah, so it kind 147 00:09:41.399 --> 00:09:46.879 of is. Think of it as a giant library. So if I wanted 148 00:09:46.960 --> 00:09:50.679 to go and find create, people who create daily, I would search that 149 00:09:50.720 --> 00:09:56.039 Hashtag and I can find everybody that's used that Hashtag. Now that's where we've 150 00:09:56.080 --> 00:10:01.679 run into some problems, because there's like Hashtag love and Hashtag blessed. Yeah, 151 00:10:01.840 --> 00:10:05.639 for the love of God, please just stop using those hashtags, because 152 00:10:05.639 --> 00:10:11.159 you will never be found in those hashtag libraries or in those Hashtag hubs. 153 00:10:11.279 --> 00:10:16.919 It's basically just wasted characters and wasted space. So it's all about finding the 154 00:10:16.000 --> 00:10:22.360 right way to categorize your content so that your ideal clients and customers can find 155 00:10:22.440 --> 00:10:28.639 you. I think that it's it's really become a miss misunderstanding of people that 156 00:10:28.759 --> 00:10:33.120 you want to find this hashtags that are used the most. So, like 157 00:10:33.279 --> 00:10:35.519 again, I'm going to go with Hashtag love. It's probably been used nearly 158 00:10:35.559 --> 00:10:41.600 a billion times, Dang, and no one's ever really going to find anything 159 00:10:41.639 --> 00:10:46.480 good in that Hashtag. But if I wanted to find Denver social media, 160 00:10:46.679 --> 00:10:50.840 there might only be six hundred posts in there, but I will populate in 161 00:10:50.879 --> 00:10:56.200 there. So if someone's looking for somebody to find in the Denver area and 162 00:10:56.240 --> 00:11:01.559 they want help with their social media. They just it's just like finding through 163 00:11:01.600 --> 00:11:03.840 the yellow pages. They were able to find me. So you have to 164 00:11:03.879 --> 00:11:09.360 have a strategy around your hashtags and know how to use them the right way, 165 00:11:09.480 --> 00:11:13.559 or else is just a waste of everyone's time. Okay, Goshas. 166 00:11:13.559 --> 00:11:18.320 So that makes sense. So now are the or hashtags like a global thing 167 00:11:18.320 --> 00:11:20.720 that's ranking, or is it per platform? Does that make sense? Like 168 00:11:22.840 --> 00:11:26.600 am my focus on certain hashtags on certain platforms, or is it like I 169 00:11:26.639 --> 00:11:30.960 Hashtag, you know my name and it's going to be across everything, discoverable 170 00:11:30.960 --> 00:11:33.039 and everything? How is that? We should Hashtag your name, billy. 171 00:11:33.440 --> 00:11:39.279 You're a content creator, I got it. So I mean like any time 172 00:11:39.679 --> 00:11:43.159 somebody wants to find all of the Post that you do. So I mean 173 00:11:43.200 --> 00:11:48.519 you do stuff other than just creating your this show. You have a bunch 174 00:11:48.519 --> 00:11:52.279 of great carousels, you have some really fun, you know, reels that 175 00:11:52.320 --> 00:11:56.200 you've done. If somebody wanted to just get to know more about you and 176 00:11:56.240 --> 00:12:01.080 they wanted to learn from you, they should go into the billy to Billy 177 00:12:01.080 --> 00:12:05.320 Thorp Hashtag. Okay, and they can see all your content. So so 178 00:12:05.399 --> 00:12:07.799 if I go onto Google, and I shouldn't, probably try this. I 179 00:12:07.799 --> 00:12:09.360 mean I could answer my own question by trying, but it's fun. It's 180 00:12:09.440 --> 00:12:13.320 more fun to ask. If I just tied in, like Hashtag Katie Brinkley 181 00:12:13.960 --> 00:12:18.480 on Google, is going to bring up all of your social profiles and all 182 00:12:18.519 --> 00:12:22.639 of those posts or how does is it rank like that? No, no, 183 00:12:22.000 --> 00:12:28.480 the I'm just talking about platforms specific. So it's I do Hashtag Katie 184 00:12:28.480 --> 00:12:35.799 Brinkley on Google, Hashtag Katie Brinklin Instagram, it will populate for that specific 185 00:12:35.840 --> 00:12:39.639 platform. Now, surprisingly, if you just this is a side note, 186 00:12:39.720 --> 00:12:46.559 non Hashtag related, but if you do Google Katie Brinkley, it's not my 187 00:12:46.639 --> 00:12:52.360 donain Katie brinkleycom. It's not my my business as side. Next step, 188 00:12:52.399 --> 00:12:56.240 social. The first thing that populates is my linkedin page, and the reason 189 00:12:56.320 --> 00:13:03.879 behind that is because I'm consistently providing content to the linkedin account. So, 190 00:13:03.919 --> 00:13:07.919 I mean, if you don't think that spending time on social media is if 191 00:13:07.919 --> 00:13:13.080 you think spending time social medias is a waste of time, you're missing out 192 00:13:13.159 --> 00:13:16.919 on being found through search and you never know who could be searching for your 193 00:13:16.960 --> 00:13:22.000 product or for you. So you have to make sure that you show up 194 00:13:22.039 --> 00:13:26.919 strategically through, you know, these different platforms. And going back to originally 195 00:13:26.000 --> 00:13:31.639 with what you were saying on on Hashtag search, is each hashtag platform or 196 00:13:31.639 --> 00:13:39.120 each platform has their own Hashtag library. So hashtag strategy on Instagram is going 197 00:13:39.120 --> 00:13:45.159 to look very different than your Hashtag strategy on Linkedin or facebook or tick tock. 198 00:13:45.399 --> 00:13:48.759 Okay, Oh, okay, so all those platforms are a little bit 199 00:13:48.799 --> 00:13:52.519 separate. Strategies are a little bit separate. So you got to be mindful 200 00:13:52.600 --> 00:13:54.799 of all those things. All that's interesting. I thought it was just this 201 00:13:54.879 --> 00:14:00.519 global like, oh it Hashtag everything and move on. So so there's a 202 00:14:00.559 --> 00:14:03.720 couple of good questions. One good question in the chat is this. Can 203 00:14:03.720 --> 00:14:07.080 a Hashtag be a sentence or how many words does it need to be limited 204 00:14:07.200 --> 00:14:13.039 to? Well, so, I mean like this is the thing, but 205 00:14:13.159 --> 00:14:18.360 with niching Downer or or niching down with your hashtags again, if I use 206 00:14:18.360 --> 00:14:24.120 HASHTAG social media, I'm not going to be found. Or but if I 207 00:14:24.240 --> 00:14:33.080 use HASHTAG social media for small business, Hashtag social media business, anything where 208 00:14:33.120 --> 00:14:37.679 I'm adding in the additional, I guess, Library of where to be found 209 00:14:37.679 --> 00:14:43.000 and that certain hub is going to help you. I I think that if 210 00:14:43.039 --> 00:14:48.840 you have less than tenzero followers, you need to be using very specific Hashtag. 211 00:14:50.000 --> 00:14:54.399 So I'm talking like three hundred thousand or less times that that Hashtag has 212 00:14:54.440 --> 00:14:58.720 been used. Okay, so you want to find go ahead. Oh, 213 00:14:58.720 --> 00:15:01.879 I'm so. I let me pause you right there. So where do I 214 00:15:01.919 --> 00:15:05.639 find that information? How do I figure out is that that tool? Is 215 00:15:05.679 --> 00:15:07.759 that flick? Like, how do I figure out how it is it is 216 00:15:07.799 --> 00:15:11.519 that tool? That is that tool flick? So I'm happy to do a 217 00:15:11.519 --> 00:15:15.159 screen share and walk you through it. But I mean it's really cool because 218 00:15:15.159 --> 00:15:20.279 it'll say like hey, Hashtag Denver business has been used one point three that 219 00:15:20.559 --> 00:15:24.600 one point three million times and of that one point three million times, the 220 00:15:24.679 --> 00:15:31.639 average post of someone that uses it gets seven hundred and sixty seven likes. 221 00:15:31.639 --> 00:15:33.360 For me, that I mean, well, that sounds great, but I 222 00:15:33.360 --> 00:15:39.480 don't have that many followers. So probably whoever you uses that Hashtag that ranks 223 00:15:39.559 --> 00:15:43.080 on it. They have a lot of followers that are already engaging with their 224 00:15:43.120 --> 00:15:48.559 content to help boost it into the Hashtag hub and push it out more in 225 00:15:48.600 --> 00:15:52.320 the instagram algorithm. So I try and search for those hashtags that are again 226 00:15:52.399 --> 00:15:58.000 three hundredzero or less. So sometimes, like one time when I when I 227 00:15:58.080 --> 00:16:02.000 ranks up in the Hashtag hub for a while and it really helped me with 228 00:16:02.039 --> 00:16:07.879 my post on instagram. Was I miss spelled entrepreneur. But you know what, 229 00:16:07.320 --> 00:16:14.279 a lot of people misspell entrepreneur apparently, and so I did entrepreneur, 230 00:16:14.840 --> 00:16:18.440 social media, Social Media Entrepreneur, I think it was, or something where 231 00:16:18.440 --> 00:16:22.039 I miss spelled entrepreneur. It was a longer Hashtag and it helped me get 232 00:16:22.120 --> 00:16:26.240 ranked. I got like sixteen new followers from it. So I mean like 233 00:16:26.279 --> 00:16:30.000 it worked. But I mean that's the way you have the kind of strategy 234 00:16:30.039 --> 00:16:34.000 Hg really think about Hashtags so that you can rank and then when you're, 235 00:16:34.039 --> 00:16:37.440 you know, not a mega account. Okay, this is good information, 236 00:16:37.480 --> 00:16:41.120 because I never even think about that. I always just think like Oh, 237 00:16:41.559 --> 00:16:45.639 you know, like whatever, creator, content, creator, and those are 238 00:16:45.639 --> 00:16:49.279 probably all used like a million times, which I think even instagram maybe shows 239 00:16:49.360 --> 00:16:52.600 me that, or maybe it's facebook. Yeah, they do. They show 240 00:16:52.679 --> 00:16:56.399 both of them do. I mean like so if you go on to instagram 241 00:16:56.440 --> 00:17:00.600 at the very top, you know, you in the search bar. It's 242 00:17:00.679 --> 00:17:03.759 kind of like a google search bar. You can you can search for things 243 00:17:03.919 --> 00:17:07.359 with like, I'm just going to stick with me, like social media strategy. 244 00:17:07.559 --> 00:17:11.480 You can search that and you can see how many times that Hashtag has 245 00:17:11.519 --> 00:17:15.839 been used and it'll give you other options for that Hashtag. So it'll say 246 00:17:15.880 --> 00:17:21.079 like, okay, social media strategy has been used, you know, one 247 00:17:21.160 --> 00:17:26.400 point eight million times, but then right underneath it social media strategy spelled like, 248 00:17:26.480 --> 00:17:30.960 IE, maybe it's only been used for thousand times. Okay, I'm 249 00:17:30.960 --> 00:17:36.720 going on and slide down into those hashtags. So thinking about how you can 250 00:17:37.319 --> 00:17:42.480 maybe find the smaller areas for you to potentially get that traffic from is really 251 00:17:42.519 --> 00:17:48.720 important. And the again with these hashtags. The reason why I'm saying that 252 00:17:48.880 --> 00:17:53.680 to find the smaller ones as opposed to the bigger ones is because it's all 253 00:17:53.680 --> 00:18:00.160 based on the algorithm. So again, let's say you have a hundred and 254 00:18:00.279 --> 00:18:04.359 followers. If I had a hundred thousand followers and did a post, the 255 00:18:04.400 --> 00:18:10.640 odds are that maybe a hundred of them would like the post within the first 256 00:18:10.759 --> 00:18:15.880 five minutes. That's without any hashtags at all. So already they have a 257 00:18:15.960 --> 00:18:19.200 leg up on me because the instagram algorithm is said, oh, people like 258 00:18:19.319 --> 00:18:23.759 this post, let's send it to more people. If they're using hashtags in 259 00:18:23.839 --> 00:18:29.559 there. They already have those hundred people liking it and now the Hashtag they 260 00:18:29.640 --> 00:18:33.680 find their way into the Hashtag hubs and the strangers that are hanging out in 261 00:18:33.720 --> 00:18:37.799 the Hashtag hubs will see the post and they're start, they start liking it. 262 00:18:37.880 --> 00:18:41.400 So US little guys that maybe you know, like for me, I 263 00:18:41.440 --> 00:18:48.480 get between fifty and a hundred and fifty likes and comments combined on a post 264 00:18:48.880 --> 00:18:52.720 for the entire life cycle of the post. Yeah, and I really have 265 00:18:52.759 --> 00:18:57.519 to make sure that I'm showing up in these the smaller Hashtag hubs so that, 266 00:18:59.359 --> 00:19:00.440 let's say, you know, like if six people like it in the 267 00:19:00.440 --> 00:19:06.640 first fifteen minutes I show up in this little micro hub and then one person 268 00:19:06.759 --> 00:19:10.480 likes it, boom, now it's going to put me even higher in that 269 00:19:10.559 --> 00:19:14.279 hub and just kind of keep me they're hanging out until another post comes in 270 00:19:14.319 --> 00:19:18.079 and kind of not that does better and knocks me down. Okay, Gotcha, 271 00:19:18.160 --> 00:19:19.920 Yesh. So it's like a like a little rankings, like it's almost 272 00:19:21.000 --> 00:19:25.200 like little, you know, patches of like their own like little ecosystems, 273 00:19:25.319 --> 00:19:29.039 I guess. Yes, of post within that little ecosystem of that Gular, 274 00:19:29.119 --> 00:19:32.640 like you said, a category, so just like a bucket category. So 275 00:19:32.640 --> 00:19:36.920 this pretty interesting. Now, what if you and I are doing similar things? 276 00:19:36.920 --> 00:19:40.519 Like is there? Because I heard someone in the clubhouse one time like 277 00:19:40.559 --> 00:19:44.920 get kind of frustrated because somebody else was using a Hashtag that wasn't really branded 278 00:19:44.960 --> 00:19:48.400 to them or their business. It was just a general Hashtag. In they're 279 00:19:48.480 --> 00:19:52.119 like kind of getting hurt this a few times from a few different creators, 280 00:19:52.359 --> 00:19:55.880 like yeah, I can believe people are using my Hashtag. And then I've 281 00:19:55.880 --> 00:19:59.759 even done that before, like I've seen crash tagging, a Hashtag. Y, 282 00:20:00.000 --> 00:20:02.880 is what it is called. This a name for crash tagging. All 283 00:20:03.000 --> 00:20:07.640 right, let's talk about this. This is interesting. This is the contrast. 284 00:20:07.920 --> 00:20:11.359 Yes, well, and I mean like in this is where, going 285 00:20:11.400 --> 00:20:15.039 back to the to the Billy Thorpe Hashtag, if you were using that to 286 00:20:15.119 --> 00:20:18.799 curate all of your content, you were using that on every post that you 287 00:20:18.839 --> 00:20:23.079 did, posts that you were doing collaborations with, you always had that Billy 288 00:20:23.079 --> 00:20:29.279 Thorpe, and then all of a sudden here comes Katie Brinkley using Hashtag Billy 289 00:20:29.279 --> 00:20:33.160 Thorpe because I want to get in front of your audience. Gotcha. Yeah, 290 00:20:33.200 --> 00:20:34.759 so, I mean, like that's kind of what the crash tagging a 291 00:20:34.839 --> 00:20:41.240 Hashtag is. And again, this is like those branded Hashtag so if you 292 00:20:41.279 --> 00:20:48.839 want to keep a specific kind of library of, let's say all of my 293 00:20:48.000 --> 00:20:52.559 let's say all of my Hashtag tips that I do every single post that is 294 00:20:52.599 --> 00:21:00.480 about Hashtags, I title it Hashtag Katie Brinkie, Katie Brinkley Hashtag tips, 295 00:21:00.279 --> 00:21:04.480 and that's how I would be able to curate my own little library, because 296 00:21:04.519 --> 00:21:08.240 you do get a url. I would be able to curate my own little 297 00:21:08.319 --> 00:21:14.119 library of all my Hashtag tips that I've done on instagram ever. And then 298 00:21:14.160 --> 00:21:18.359 here comes Billy Thorpe, you know, talking about saltwater fishing. I don't 299 00:21:18.359 --> 00:21:19.640 want him in there. Yeah, what are you doing in there? You 300 00:21:19.680 --> 00:21:23.480 know what I mean? So that's kind of like a curated way to keep 301 00:21:23.599 --> 00:21:26.000 people like Oh yeah, well, if you want to learn about Hashtags, 302 00:21:26.200 --> 00:21:30.799 just, you know, Hashtag Katie Brinkley Hashtag, or here's the URL to 303 00:21:30.880 --> 00:21:33.599 it. So okay, that makes sense. Yeah, that's a good that's 304 00:21:33.640 --> 00:21:37.839 a good strategy, I think, like because I'm because I was curious about 305 00:21:37.839 --> 00:21:40.240 that too. Like, man, if I work and I get this Hashtag 306 00:21:40.279 --> 00:21:42.759 and maybe I come up with a creative one or whatever that looks like, 307 00:21:42.799 --> 00:21:45.880 and I'm I'm working hard and all of a sudden I see, you know, 308 00:21:47.119 --> 00:21:51.039 competition start popping up on my like, can I trademark a Hashtag, 309 00:21:51.079 --> 00:21:52.720 like is that a thing? Like buzz off, like you can't use that. 310 00:21:53.039 --> 00:21:56.480 Maybe, I mean, maybe you can, I don't know. I 311 00:21:56.519 --> 00:22:02.880 mean, like, I've never heard of anyone trademarking a Hashtag. I don't 312 00:22:02.920 --> 00:22:07.799 know if that's legal, but I'm not a trademark law person, but I 313 00:22:07.799 --> 00:22:11.559 do know somebody that's great with trademark class. Follow them on instagram. Just 314 00:22:11.599 --> 00:22:14.440 bring you on here and just talk about trademarking my Hashtag. Like, can 315 00:22:14.440 --> 00:22:18.640 you trademarketless? Walk through? No, I know. Honestly, you side 316 00:22:18.680 --> 00:22:22.000 note. You should bring them on because they probably would have a lot of 317 00:22:22.000 --> 00:22:26.400 great tips to share about being a creator and trademarking your stuff. Because, 318 00:22:26.519 --> 00:22:30.119 trew, that's a huge problem of people, you know, saying, Oh, 319 00:22:30.160 --> 00:22:32.359 well, it was posted on Google, so I just took it off 320 00:22:32.359 --> 00:22:34.519 a google and posted on instagram. Well, that's not only illegal, you 321 00:22:34.559 --> 00:22:37.160 know. So, yeah, my my wife's the graphic designer. If you 322 00:22:37.319 --> 00:22:40.559 like, mentioned something like, Hey, I saw this on Google. Can 323 00:22:40.599 --> 00:22:45.319 we like try to Dishal like light you on fire? She is super serious, 324 00:22:45.319 --> 00:22:48.279 which it's her job, it's her profession, so she should be all 325 00:22:48.319 --> 00:22:49.920 right. So we've talked about, you know, kind of rankings a little 326 00:22:49.960 --> 00:22:53.319 bit. We talked about all these places that your Hashtag is on. It's 327 00:22:53.359 --> 00:22:56.960 like we got a couple of comments here in somebody's hashtaging my name. So 328 00:22:57.119 --> 00:23:00.480 I appreciate that as well. So what are some dues and dolts when you're 329 00:23:00.559 --> 00:23:07.319 posting like I know here recently on Instagram I've seen so much stuff about Hashtag, 330 00:23:07.440 --> 00:23:11.079 so much stuff about, hey, you got to post thirty Hashtags, 331 00:23:11.079 --> 00:23:15.880 you got a post to Hashtags, EPOS one Hashtag. Like what does can 332 00:23:15.880 --> 00:23:18.559 you? Can you tell us how many hashtags do we need to post so 333 00:23:18.559 --> 00:23:22.799 we can stop thinking about it? Well, like I said, but with 334 00:23:22.880 --> 00:23:26.759 all these different social media platforms there is a different strategy. So since you 335 00:23:26.839 --> 00:23:30.160 only asked about Instagram, I will answer that question with the best strategy for 336 00:23:30.240 --> 00:23:37.519 instagram. So about maybe me had it's already April, so about six months 337 00:23:37.519 --> 00:23:42.960 ago, the head of Instagram, Adamas Terry, said you only need to 338 00:23:44.039 --> 00:23:49.759 use three to five hashtags. But here's the thing. He was saying this 339 00:23:51.000 --> 00:23:57.559 from the instagram Creator's account. This is where the people who are content creators 340 00:23:57.559 --> 00:24:03.480 that have one, two, twenty million followers and they're there, the content 341 00:24:03.640 --> 00:24:10.359 creators. They're getting those thousand likes in the first fifteen minutes. Yeah, 342 00:24:10.400 --> 00:24:14.359 they only need to use three to five hashtags. If they're using thirty HASHTAGS, 343 00:24:14.400 --> 00:24:17.359 it doesn't make a difference. For them, could because they're being ranked 344 00:24:17.359 --> 00:24:22.519 at the top of their of their Hashtag home anyways. But for US little 345 00:24:22.519 --> 00:24:26.359 guys, you know I mean, we need to optimize as many possibilities for 346 00:24:26.440 --> 00:24:32.759 us to be seen as possible. MMM, yeah, and that's utilizing all 347 00:24:32.799 --> 00:24:36.680 thirty. But you have to make sure again that they make sense. So 348 00:24:36.920 --> 00:24:40.119 okay. So, so, if I find thirty hashtags, it makes sense. 349 00:24:40.880 --> 00:24:42.799 You need to have a collection of two hundred. But yeah, okay, 350 00:24:42.839 --> 00:24:47.720 so you think. So, running collective two hundred hashtags at all times. 351 00:24:47.720 --> 00:24:51.200 That's good, which which flick can help you with. So again I'm 352 00:24:51.240 --> 00:24:56.119 with with flick. I have over three hundred hashtags based on a variety of 353 00:24:56.119 --> 00:25:00.480 two post that I consistently post about and I take the I keep them in 354 00:25:00.559 --> 00:25:04.039 there and flick continues to analyze them, see which ones are doing better than 355 00:25:04.079 --> 00:25:07.960 others, which ones have died, and then all I have to do is 356 00:25:08.160 --> 00:25:14.480 click it and say copy thirty random hashtags from this collection and I copy them 357 00:25:14.519 --> 00:25:18.400 on end. So okay, that's he that's usually time saving. I'm over 358 00:25:18.400 --> 00:25:23.680 here like Hashtag. How do I spell entrepreneur? Yep, all right, 359 00:25:23.759 --> 00:25:27.240 so that that's a that's a super tip. Like keep two hundred plus three 360 00:25:27.359 --> 00:25:30.319 hundred. That we always and and I love that flick. It's on a 361 00:25:30.359 --> 00:25:33.279 variety of things that you talk about. All right, yeah, that's a 362 00:25:33.319 --> 00:25:37.200 big I mean, like I will take out, like so I said, 363 00:25:37.279 --> 00:25:41.119 like, you know, copy thirty Hashtags, but I'll probably take out five 364 00:25:41.240 --> 00:25:47.559 and choose five brand new hashtags for that post that I haven't used before. 365 00:25:48.160 --> 00:25:52.119 That is extremely relevant to what I am posting about. You know, like 366 00:25:52.480 --> 00:25:56.720 let's I think my last post was about being social on social media against sorry, 367 00:25:56.720 --> 00:26:00.279 ahead here on my eye, being social on social media again. And 368 00:26:00.400 --> 00:26:06.079 so it was a much longer Hashtag, probably only been used a hundred times, 369 00:26:06.079 --> 00:26:08.720 but it was like Hashtag, let's be social on social media. But 370 00:26:08.759 --> 00:26:14.039 it was very in line, in a lignement with what I was talking about 371 00:26:14.079 --> 00:26:18.319 with that post. So when you keep those running hashtags, remember flick is 372 00:26:18.359 --> 00:26:22.599 remembering all all these hashtags that you use. They're analyzing them and then, 373 00:26:22.680 --> 00:26:25.960 let's say I rank on that Hashtag, it's going to suggest like hey, 374 00:26:26.000 --> 00:26:29.559 maybe you should try using it again because you gained some followers. You got 375 00:26:29.559 --> 00:26:30.839 it lawful lot of likes. There wasn't. It's not a ton in the 376 00:26:30.839 --> 00:26:34.359 HASHTAG hub. What do you think about using this again, Katie? So, 377 00:26:34.680 --> 00:26:37.319 okay, so I got one more question for you and it will kind 378 00:26:37.319 --> 00:26:42.440 of jump. There's some chats coming in on booth bullhorn and on on Youtube 379 00:26:42.480 --> 00:26:47.880 here, so we can jump around and answer those. But what about placement? 380 00:26:48.160 --> 00:26:52.440 I've heard don't put it in the in the description. Put it in 381 00:26:52.480 --> 00:26:57.799 the first comment. Like is there any relevancy? Hasn't make difference, it 382 00:26:57.839 --> 00:27:03.079 doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. So this hash this is so, this 383 00:27:03.160 --> 00:27:10.759 is the thing. I put twenty seven Hashtags in the comments and I put 384 00:27:10.759 --> 00:27:15.119 three in the caption, and the reason behind that is in the three in 385 00:27:15.160 --> 00:27:18.920 the caption are the ones that make the most sense to what my content is 386 00:27:18.960 --> 00:27:23.839 about, what I do and who I want, like who my ideal client 387 00:27:23.960 --> 00:27:27.039 is. On that post. So anyone that follows me, you now, 388 00:27:27.079 --> 00:27:30.279 when you can see that, you'll be like, oh, she's talking to 389 00:27:30.400 --> 00:27:34.920 you know women who podcast right now, you'll understand. But the reason behind 390 00:27:36.000 --> 00:27:41.119 it is people who use screen readers. So those who are visually impaired, 391 00:27:41.440 --> 00:27:48.559 they still use instagram and the if they are reading your caption, then then 392 00:27:48.599 --> 00:27:52.559 you get to the bottom and see all those little pound science hanging around there. 393 00:27:52.640 --> 00:28:00.240 It sounds like a garbled mess. So with your Hashtags, I put 394 00:28:00.240 --> 00:28:03.559 three in the caption and you want to make sure that you, when you're 395 00:28:03.640 --> 00:28:10.519 utilizing separate words, you capitalize each word. So social media strategists, not 396 00:28:10.720 --> 00:28:15.079 all lowercase, not all upper case, because again, people who are using 397 00:28:15.079 --> 00:28:18.720 a screen reader, I don't even know how I would try and say social 398 00:28:18.720 --> 00:28:22.440 media strategists as one word, but that's what those, that's what Siri and 399 00:28:22.599 --> 00:28:26.319 these other, you know, screen readers are doing, is they're trying to 400 00:28:26.319 --> 00:28:30.079 read your hashtags as one long word. So you make sure that you put 401 00:28:30.119 --> 00:28:36.160 the three most important hashtags in the caption and you do capitalize each word, 402 00:28:36.200 --> 00:28:38.440 and think of it that way. But what the post is about, what 403 00:28:38.839 --> 00:28:44.079 it is that you do and who the post is for and then you can 404 00:28:44.079 --> 00:28:47.400 throw everything else out into the comments. You don't need to worry about capitalization 405 00:28:47.480 --> 00:28:52.400 unless you really want to, but that's just yeah, the caption is the 406 00:28:52.440 --> 00:28:56.920 best spot to really make sure that you are checking all the boxes for those 407 00:28:56.920 --> 00:29:02.079 who could be visually impaired teating a content. And this is great, Kait 408 00:29:02.200 --> 00:29:07.079 this is huge because, well, one I'm like Hashtag illiterate or whatever, 409 00:29:07.119 --> 00:29:10.440 like I just don't know anything about it. So this is awesome. Like 410 00:29:10.599 --> 00:29:14.640 I'm just taking a whole page of notes on a on a coffee, coffee 411 00:29:14.640 --> 00:29:18.400 spoaking. Should do us follow me on social media. Yeah, like those, 412 00:29:18.960 --> 00:29:22.359 I mean. And it's funny because you know, and I think this 413 00:29:22.440 --> 00:29:25.720 is the thing with social media, like I do follow you on social media, 414 00:29:25.799 --> 00:29:27.200 I do check out your post, I do, you know, read 415 00:29:27.240 --> 00:29:30.559 your stuff, but sometimes I don't put all the pieces together like you have 416 00:29:30.640 --> 00:29:33.039 for us today, like you know, because you're doing this all the time, 417 00:29:33.039 --> 00:29:36.680 you're putting out so much content. I only see so much because of 418 00:29:36.720 --> 00:29:41.480 algorithms and all that kind of stuff. So very, very good information. 419 00:29:41.519 --> 00:29:42.839 I'm like blown away. I'm like over here now. Okay, so let 420 00:29:42.920 --> 00:29:45.920 me ask you one more question. I keep lying, I keep saying one 421 00:29:45.920 --> 00:29:48.279 more about your packing yourself on the back like man. It was such a 422 00:29:48.279 --> 00:29:49.920 good idea for me to bring Katie and the talk about hashtags. Yeah, 423 00:29:51.160 --> 00:29:53.079 brilliants, you don't listen everybody. You can start a creative project. You 424 00:29:53.119 --> 00:29:56.759 don't have to be smartest person. He's got to know really smart people and 425 00:29:56.759 --> 00:30:00.440 you bring them on and that's some a bunch of questions. Okay. So 426 00:30:00.880 --> 00:30:06.279 can I go back on older posts and correct hashtags, or am I already 427 00:30:06.279 --> 00:30:08.720 finished? Once I do it once, once I post, it's done. 428 00:30:10.039 --> 00:30:12.039 If you want to just categorize them, then you can, like if you're 429 00:30:12.039 --> 00:30:18.039 trying to create your billy Thorpe creating daily Hashtag Library, a content library, 430 00:30:18.359 --> 00:30:21.960 you can go back in and do that and that's fine, but you are 431 00:30:22.079 --> 00:30:26.200 not going to find any ranking happen at that point. Okay, Gotcha. 432 00:30:26.319 --> 00:30:30.319 So so do the upfront where you have ten minutes. That that's another thing. 433 00:30:30.359 --> 00:30:33.960 Like you can't go in and be changing out hashtags or like, Oh, 434 00:30:33.000 --> 00:30:40.720 I forgot to add hashtags today and then Adam the next day it's done. 435 00:30:40.559 --> 00:30:41.759 See, you have ten minutes to get those hashtags in there from the 436 00:30:41.759 --> 00:30:45.799 time they post. Okay, wow, I didn't ten minutes. Wow, 437 00:30:45.880 --> 00:30:48.880 that's crazy. All right, I'm writing. I'm just taking a bunch of 438 00:30:48.880 --> 00:30:52.759 notes here. All right. So let's jump over into into some comments here. 439 00:30:53.279 --> 00:30:56.680 For we'll drop over the bull horn. We have been over there. 440 00:30:56.720 --> 00:30:59.279 I see a familiar face over there, CEJ well, here we got. 441 00:30:59.279 --> 00:31:00.720 I'm going to change all the sizes. Let me get to the right screen 442 00:31:00.799 --> 00:31:03.799 here. All Right, let me get over here. This is here. 443 00:31:04.079 --> 00:31:08.400 So Jameson what's of Katie Loving Bull Horn and he says no one else uses 444 00:31:08.480 --> 00:31:11.400 ATP sports network, not until today, James. I'm going to Hashtag that 445 00:31:11.440 --> 00:31:17.319 one on here, do some crash tagging. He says something about football. 446 00:31:17.319 --> 00:31:21.640 He's like addicted, and then says how important can it be to stay around 447 00:31:21.680 --> 00:31:25.440 after your post or after you post? I don't know if he's talking about 448 00:31:25.440 --> 00:31:30.279 like engagement or he is. He is, and that's that. We that's 449 00:31:30.319 --> 00:31:33.160 our next topic, billy. It's good dig the right engagement strategies, but 450 00:31:33.200 --> 00:31:40.480 I mean there is I mean this is the thing. There's a lot of 451 00:31:41.039 --> 00:31:45.359 influencers, content creators like that's their job, is just I mean, billy, 452 00:31:45.839 --> 00:31:49.680 more power to you on being a daily content creator. It is a 453 00:31:49.720 --> 00:31:55.039 lot of work. It's a full time job and you know, I have 454 00:31:55.240 --> 00:32:00.960 a business to run. So like social media for me is that that awareness 455 00:32:00.960 --> 00:32:04.200 factor. I want to people to be aware of WHO I am, learned 456 00:32:04.279 --> 00:32:07.279 from me and hopefully they decide to do business with me. That is that 457 00:32:07.359 --> 00:32:10.759 is my purpose for social media. So I don't have all day to be 458 00:32:10.839 --> 00:32:15.599 spending on social media. Like I saw a post, I think it was 459 00:32:15.640 --> 00:32:17.599 this morning, or maybe it was yesterday, like I said already, today 460 00:32:17.599 --> 00:32:22.960 spend a day. But it said if you're if you're looking to go from 461 00:32:22.039 --> 00:32:27.640 zero to Onezero followers, what you need to do is post six or six 462 00:32:27.640 --> 00:32:31.440 times a week and engage for sixty minutes every day. And I'm like what? 463 00:32:32.039 --> 00:32:36.920 But who has time for that? You know, and and I mean 464 00:32:36.960 --> 00:32:40.480 like if you do, then more power to you. Probably will grow. 465 00:32:40.799 --> 00:32:45.079 But if you have a business to run, you can be successful with your 466 00:32:45.119 --> 00:32:49.960 social media with as little as one hour a week. And it's when you 467 00:32:50.000 --> 00:32:52.720 know how to do these things the right way, when you have a collection 468 00:32:52.799 --> 00:32:57.519 of hashtags that you can just copy and Pittman a copying paste, but you 469 00:32:57.519 --> 00:33:00.440 know, bring on in when you have you know the strategy of this is 470 00:33:00.440 --> 00:33:05.279 what I'm going to post every Tuesday and this is how I show up on 471 00:33:05.640 --> 00:33:07.519 Linkedin on Wednesdays. I mean, when you know what you're going to be 472 00:33:07.519 --> 00:33:13.000 posting, you can get in and be effective and do your engagement as part 473 00:33:13.039 --> 00:33:15.720 of it and it doesn't take you all day. So I think that you 474 00:33:15.759 --> 00:33:21.200 can be successful with social media with this little as ten minutes after posting. 475 00:33:21.240 --> 00:33:24.039 So I have an entire strategy. Maybe we should do this for our next 476 00:33:24.079 --> 00:33:28.880 episode together about engagement. Yeah, I do. I get it written down. 477 00:33:28.960 --> 00:33:31.000 Next episode, Katie, it's going to be that, because, you 478 00:33:31.000 --> 00:33:35.279 know, I think it is a huge way and it's like you're talking about, 479 00:33:35.319 --> 00:33:37.920 it's like this wole in this is what and here's what I tell people, 480 00:33:38.039 --> 00:33:43.559 especially with podcast discoverability, is do what you can, do what you 481 00:33:43.599 --> 00:33:45.240 love the most, because whatever you love the most is you're going to focus 482 00:33:45.279 --> 00:33:49.880 on and you're going to grow it. Either figure out a software or a 483 00:33:49.920 --> 00:33:52.240 person or someone you know, some outsources to solve in a software or a 484 00:33:52.319 --> 00:33:57.519 human or whatever for the stuff that you're not good at or you know you 485 00:33:57.559 --> 00:34:00.720 feel not confident in, and then just like double down what you're really good 486 00:34:00.720 --> 00:34:04.160 at. And so, however, I am a big believer in learning it 487 00:34:04.240 --> 00:34:07.240 so part of my, you know, passion after listening to this is like, 488 00:34:07.279 --> 00:34:09.400 okay, I want to be more mindful of Hashtags. Some I literally 489 00:34:09.400 --> 00:34:14.119 just throwing them up in the moment that I'm just thinking of stuff off the 490 00:34:14.159 --> 00:34:16.519 top my head and hope it works. Like I have no strategy in a 491 00:34:16.679 --> 00:34:21.239 probably, if you if you didn't the audit on my instagram account, you 492 00:34:21.440 --> 00:34:24.599 probably get dude, like this is terrible, so I'm going to check out. 493 00:34:24.599 --> 00:34:28.280 I'm I'M NOT gonna lie. I have looked at your hashtags and I've 494 00:34:28.280 --> 00:34:36.119 wondered, like, Oh, it's forcing somebody opportunity. Like I'm like yeah, 495 00:34:36.199 --> 00:34:38.400 like I'm at a Hashtag deficit. I've no idea. When I'M A 496 00:34:38.440 --> 00:34:42.159 M I trying to create it. I mean like it's so they're like I 497 00:34:42.159 --> 00:34:44.639 said, there's there's a number of tools out there. Flick is my favorite 498 00:34:44.679 --> 00:34:49.239 because I like seeing the data there. There's another one that I really like, 499 00:34:49.440 --> 00:34:53.079 is called Hashtag slayer, and that one's a great tool as well. 500 00:34:54.480 --> 00:35:00.159 I just did the amount of data that I get from flick. You know, 501 00:35:00.199 --> 00:35:04.719 I get weekly emails and you know all how many people clicked on my 502 00:35:04.760 --> 00:35:07.960 website from a post. I mean, like I just get a lot of 503 00:35:07.039 --> 00:35:13.199 data and and with my job, the more data I have the better. 504 00:35:14.000 --> 00:35:17.400 Not everyone's going to need that much data. So if you don't, Hashtag 505 00:35:17.400 --> 00:35:22.639 slayer is another tool. It's very affordable and I have, I do have 506 00:35:22.679 --> 00:35:25.440 a discount code for that one too. That okay. Well, to put 507 00:35:25.440 --> 00:35:30.360 that in the show notes for sure. Yeah, okay, as actually, 508 00:35:30.400 --> 00:35:32.360 I'm just rinning. I'm running salt dunk some let's do this upisode again, 509 00:35:32.440 --> 00:35:37.199 but whatever. All right. So we have. We have another question here 510 00:35:37.199 --> 00:35:40.679 for me. He says, how do you create a catchy Hashtag or does 511 00:35:40.719 --> 00:35:46.679 it need to be catchy? You know, the biggest thing is thinking about 512 00:35:46.800 --> 00:35:52.599 what your your content is about and who the content is for. So, 513 00:35:52.719 --> 00:35:59.679 like I was saying before, I use the HASHTAG DENVER real estate and Denver 514 00:35:59.760 --> 00:36:04.119 realter A lot. Probably doesn't make a ton of sense for people, but 515 00:36:04.840 --> 00:36:09.599 my group coaching program the majority, not the majority at everyone that's ever signed 516 00:36:09.679 --> 00:36:14.519 up to do group coaching with me is a brokerage. So I train their 517 00:36:14.880 --> 00:36:20.079 entire team. So I want to be in front of them so that they 518 00:36:20.119 --> 00:36:23.440 hopefully bring me in to do a group training with them. So it's not 519 00:36:23.480 --> 00:36:28.480 all my entire Hashtag collection isn't about real estate or buying a house in Denver 520 00:36:28.599 --> 00:36:32.199 or the Denver housing market, but I know that Denver realtor Denver real estate 521 00:36:32.320 --> 00:36:37.400 that's where my ideal clients are hanging out. So having a good client Avatar 522 00:36:37.519 --> 00:36:40.440 of who you want to be seen, you're supposed to be seen by, 523 00:36:40.559 --> 00:36:46.079 is essential. And you can find all these with some of these different tools, 524 00:36:46.159 --> 00:36:49.800 or if you don't want to sign up for any tools, you can 525 00:36:49.840 --> 00:36:52.159 just hang out in the good old instagram search bar and, you know, 526 00:36:52.239 --> 00:36:57.960 like what Billy's doing here, take some good old handwritten notes and upload them, 527 00:36:57.960 --> 00:37:02.280 you know, into your iphone notes section so you can just copy them. 528 00:37:04.239 --> 00:37:07.000 I think using the copy and paste strategy is good, but you do 529 00:37:07.039 --> 00:37:13.119 have to make sure that they're not always in the same order because instagram doesn't 530 00:37:13.199 --> 00:37:17.159 like that. So that's where, again, having that Hashtag randomizer that flick 531 00:37:17.239 --> 00:37:22.599 gives you is great because even if you're using, you know, if you 532 00:37:22.639 --> 00:37:27.440 have a collection of forty five and you're reusing thirty of those it they're always 533 00:37:27.440 --> 00:37:29.679 going to be in a different order. So will help you in the algorithm. 534 00:37:29.760 --> 00:37:31.679 All right, this is a great information. That's that's a that's another 535 00:37:31.679 --> 00:37:37.519 great one. And then sid here in the comment says Hashtag stupid. said 536 00:37:37.639 --> 00:37:39.400 a couple couple little critiques for you. From what I've learned, you got 537 00:37:39.400 --> 00:37:45.480 a capitalize, the age and the ASS. So there you go, screen 538 00:37:45.519 --> 00:37:47.239 reader. Yeah, there you go for all them screen readers out there. 539 00:37:47.280 --> 00:37:50.800 Said, if you're going to give the Hashtag, bro You did the right 540 00:37:50.840 --> 00:37:52.599 way. Okay, now we're messing around and I think we have another one 541 00:37:52.719 --> 00:37:58.119 over here from James over on bullhorn, which says, if you have a 542 00:37:58.159 --> 00:38:00.920 sponsor for your business, is it smart to use their hashtags? That's a 543 00:38:01.000 --> 00:38:07.599 very good question. It's a really good spot question and this is something that 544 00:38:07.639 --> 00:38:09.760 I would talk I mean, billy, you are the sponsor king over here, 545 00:38:10.239 --> 00:38:14.840 but I think that's probably something that you would want to discuss with your 546 00:38:15.360 --> 00:38:17.800 sponsor that's coming on board. Like do you guys want to have a shared 547 00:38:17.840 --> 00:38:22.079 branded Hashtag that you both can use? Do you want to have a Hashla? 548 00:38:22.280 --> 00:38:27.800 They might have a branded Hashtag like maybe they you get Nike to sign 549 00:38:27.840 --> 00:38:30.840 up and you can do like Hashtag. Just do it Nike or whatever their 550 00:38:30.880 --> 00:38:34.280 Hashtag is that they're using for that month. You can implement it in there. 551 00:38:34.320 --> 00:38:37.760 So, I mean that's probably a discussion. I mean that I would 552 00:38:37.800 --> 00:38:42.239 talk about with the sponsorship deal. Yeah, well, you think, and 553 00:38:42.280 --> 00:38:45.679 I know a couple of sponsors I've worked with the actually have a Hashtag for 554 00:38:45.960 --> 00:38:49.599 brand deals because that's a way they track it, that's the way they kind 555 00:38:49.639 --> 00:38:52.239 of keep up with and say, okay, we know you posted where you're 556 00:38:52.239 --> 00:38:54.480 supposed to, when you're supposed to, all that kind of stuff. So 557 00:38:54.519 --> 00:38:58.159 they may actually, like you said, Katie, have something built in. 558 00:38:58.960 --> 00:39:00.559 I've never really asked that question, but they've always if they have it, 559 00:39:00.559 --> 00:39:04.480 they always tell me about it and say, Hey, can you tag us 560 00:39:04.559 --> 00:39:10.079 or Hashtag this or whatever in the in the brand deal? Said, says 561 00:39:10.159 --> 00:39:15.519 you did a Hashtag. At least he's paying attention. Said, you are 562 00:39:15.519 --> 00:39:19.280 paying attention. I'm very proud of you for taking my critique to heart and 563 00:39:19.320 --> 00:39:22.599 correcting your mistakes. Now all those people that are you know, have those 564 00:39:22.599 --> 00:39:27.159 readers, will thank you. What is nice and think. Said, I 565 00:39:27.239 --> 00:39:30.119 just HASHTAG BILLY AND IG. You guys are still in my Hashtag. A 566 00:39:30.119 --> 00:39:34.280 lot of trolls here today, billy man, that's all we do. We 567 00:39:34.400 --> 00:39:37.800 attract rolls here. So well, Katie, is there anything else? About 568 00:39:37.800 --> 00:39:40.719 hashtags that we really haven't talked about it and you've got a I mean give 569 00:39:40.800 --> 00:39:44.920 us a ton of action tips, some does, some dolts. Is there 570 00:39:44.920 --> 00:39:47.079 anything we left out that we can think of? We talked a lot about 571 00:39:47.119 --> 00:39:52.119 instagram. The biggest thing I'd like you guys to take away from this is 572 00:39:52.519 --> 00:39:59.119 an Instagram Hashtag strategy is not the same Hashtag strategy that you should have on 573 00:39:59.159 --> 00:40:06.760 facebook and Linkedin, linkedin three to four hashtags that you know, again, 574 00:40:06.800 --> 00:40:09.360 are in the caption. You're going to want to make sure that they're capitalized. 575 00:40:09.920 --> 00:40:15.519 Facebook, I say like four to eight hashtags, again, capitalization for 576 00:40:15.800 --> 00:40:20.719 different for different words, and then, ticktock. You know, they have 577 00:40:20.760 --> 00:40:25.320 such a small amount of characters available for your for each post. Most of 578 00:40:25.320 --> 00:40:29.360 the time it's only like three Hashtag so you really have to make sure that 579 00:40:29.519 --> 00:40:34.840 you know who your Hashtag is for. So hashtags, they're they're a great 580 00:40:34.880 --> 00:40:38.320 way to be found when you use them the right way and when you have 581 00:40:38.360 --> 00:40:42.960 a strategy behind it. And it might kind of seem a little overwhelming to 582 00:40:42.960 --> 00:40:46.440 think of two hundred Hashtags, but again, sitting down getting those collections together, 583 00:40:46.440 --> 00:40:51.239 you're only going to really need to do it once and then if you 584 00:40:51.440 --> 00:40:55.039 using tools like like flick, you're going to be they give you suggested hashtags 585 00:40:55.039 --> 00:41:00.840 based on posts that you kind of hung around in the similar content hub with, 586 00:41:00.199 --> 00:41:04.119 so you can go in and add more, you can remove them if 587 00:41:04.159 --> 00:41:07.360 something dies. I think there's tools out there that can really help you level 588 00:41:07.480 --> 00:41:09.960 up your Hashtag game. All right, awesome, and I think we get 589 00:41:10.039 --> 00:41:15.440 another. Let's see, one more question here from said. I'm trying to 590 00:41:15.480 --> 00:41:20.440 track two different chat boxes here. He says, do you think flick will 591 00:41:20.440 --> 00:41:25.760 start tracking reels? I sure hope so. I think you know it's it's 592 00:41:25.880 --> 00:41:30.960 the INSTAGRAM's API. That's a reason why you still can't schedule reels. Will 593 00:41:31.000 --> 00:41:36.079 get there someday. Right now you can't schedule reels, which is annoying, 594 00:41:36.119 --> 00:41:37.679 and I think once we're able to do that, a lot of the API 595 00:41:37.719 --> 00:41:42.519 will open up on on the gram so that we can schedule start getting more 596 00:41:42.599 --> 00:41:45.719 inside its analytics. I mean, if you think about it, a year 597 00:41:45.760 --> 00:41:50.559 ago is when we just started getting any insights with reels. I remember we 598 00:41:50.559 --> 00:41:52.960 were posting reels like I don't know, I hope it's doing good. I 599 00:41:52.079 --> 00:41:55.679 can't see anything on it, but now we can actually see how many plays 600 00:41:55.760 --> 00:42:00.280 is being given on Instagram, how many plays is being given on base book. 601 00:42:00.400 --> 00:42:06.079 So they're getting there. It's a new tool and hopefully then the next 602 00:42:06.119 --> 00:42:08.760 six months we'll we'll be able to schedule reels and we'll be able to see 603 00:42:08.840 --> 00:42:15.119 our hashtags are doing with the flick. Yeah, that's sales. That's awesome. 604 00:42:15.119 --> 00:42:16.559 Now, is there anything? And I don't know if you guys play 605 00:42:16.559 --> 00:42:21.039 in the Youtube space that much at all. I Know Youtube we can now 606 00:42:21.159 --> 00:42:22.519 do and I don't know when this started. Maybe I'm like real late, 607 00:42:22.559 --> 00:42:27.239 but I just found out about it in rewit like Hashtag all, like three. 608 00:42:27.239 --> 00:42:30.880 It'll show three hashtags in the video, like right out of the title. 609 00:42:30.119 --> 00:42:32.719 But I don't is that. I just put three because that's all it 610 00:42:32.760 --> 00:42:36.519 shows up. I'm like, I'm not gonna fill the thing full hashtags if 611 00:42:36.559 --> 00:42:39.880 it only shows three. But you know anything about that? There stuff. 612 00:42:42.679 --> 00:42:50.760 I am not a youtube strategist. Sorry, if I'd just please. I 613 00:42:50.800 --> 00:42:57.280 Know Youtube, pinterest. Read it. Those those are not my I mean 614 00:42:57.280 --> 00:43:00.480 there's so many platforms out there I can focus and on learning. That's best 615 00:43:00.639 --> 00:43:04.400 off first. That's first. A limited amount, but I know, I 616 00:43:04.360 --> 00:43:07.360 I don't know. It's yeah, well, I was just curious if you 617 00:43:07.440 --> 00:43:08.719 had any you know, idea over there. But I get it. I 618 00:43:08.760 --> 00:43:13.559 mean you have a hard job keeping up with all the new things and there's 619 00:43:13.599 --> 00:43:16.320 probably five new platforms a drop today while we're on this phone call or on 620 00:43:16.360 --> 00:43:21.239 this live stream. So I know trying to keep up. We likes the 621 00:43:21.320 --> 00:43:28.079 clean social media channels and social audio channels and best practices and new features. 622 00:43:28.159 --> 00:43:32.679 I mean like in the month of art instagram launched eighteen new features. So 623 00:43:32.719 --> 00:43:38.239 I mean like it's it's a lot to keep up with. Wow, that 624 00:43:38.360 --> 00:43:42.320 I don't I didn't even know about that. I mean that's a whole episode. 625 00:43:42.400 --> 00:43:45.000 Like what new features it instagram launch? Like that is crazy and and 626 00:43:45.000 --> 00:43:50.119 by the time we finished recording at billy that would be dated. And you 627 00:43:50.199 --> 00:43:54.239 know that's too much fun. Well, Katie, this has been super fun. 628 00:43:54.280 --> 00:43:58.800 I'm looking forward to Tuesday's or the Tuesdays that you can make it to 629 00:43:58.800 --> 00:44:01.320 be on the show. I think it'll be a lot of fun to kind 630 00:44:01.320 --> 00:44:05.480 of dive into, you know, a lot of this stuff and in yeah, 631 00:44:05.480 --> 00:44:07.119 they don't expect me to bring any value to the social media world because 632 00:44:07.159 --> 00:44:10.239 I'm really terrible at it. Like people are always like, I don't know 633 00:44:10.239 --> 00:44:14.760 about that. Social media stuff is cool, it's good. I liked one. 634 00:44:14.760 --> 00:44:17.199 I'm like, so inconsistence time funny, and then I'm just like going 635 00:44:17.280 --> 00:44:21.880 splurts of like posting and not posting, which I know is terrible, but 636 00:44:22.000 --> 00:44:29.519 maybe we can just take my my instagram biggest, biggest Ninja tip. It's 637 00:44:29.599 --> 00:44:32.880 not hashtags, it's not location tags, it's not real it's consistency. That 638 00:44:34.039 --> 00:44:38.639 is the best strategy for social media. Show up consistent, not constant, 639 00:44:38.639 --> 00:44:45.119 consistent, and that is what's going to help you grow the right following. 640 00:44:45.159 --> 00:44:47.360 That's good. That's what everything, that's with everything. I see that in 641 00:44:47.400 --> 00:44:51.519 podcast world, I see that in live streaming, and it's all. It's 642 00:44:51.519 --> 00:44:54.519 just showing up and in doing the work and and so it's been awesome. 643 00:44:54.519 --> 00:44:59.119 Oh, Katie, I really appreciate it. I don't know about you, but I spent a lot of 683 00:47:29.000 --> 00:47:31.039 time on the phone, given away a lot of advice, and then sometimes 684 00:47:31.039 --> 00:47:35.599 I get off the phone like thirty minutes later, forty five minutes later, 685 00:47:35.599 --> 00:47:37.760 was supposed to be a fifteen minute call, and I'm going, Oh man, 686 00:47:37.800 --> 00:47:40.719 I just spent a lot of time. And then sometimes those people even 687 00:47:40.719 --> 00:47:44.920 call me back and go hey man, that was such a great advice. 688 00:47:45.000 --> 00:47:49.360 I made couple grand and I'm going, okay, cool, but I didn't 689 00:47:49.400 --> 00:47:52.840 make any money in I gave you the great advice. So now that I'm 690 00:47:52.880 --> 00:47:53.920 greedy, but I got a family to feed, and I'm sure you do 691 00:47:54.000 --> 00:47:58.199 too. You know as well. So go check that out.
